Where and when is the 5K4Life Road Race?

The 5k4Life Road Race will be held on Sunday, November 4, 2011 at 10:00 am, rain or shine.  The race village be located at Technology Square, the lawn between 300-500 Technology Square, in Kendall Square.

What is the best way to get to there?

The 5K4Life is located at the lawn between 300-500 Technology Square in Kendall Square. The race is within walking distance of the MBTA's Red line Kendall/MIT Station. For walking direction from Kendall/MIT Station, please click here

Free parking is available on Sunday at metered spots throughout the city of Cambridge. We strongly recommend the use of public transportation to and from the race.

Can I register on race day?

Yes. Online registration will close on October 31 at 9:00 PST. Entry fee for race day registration is $35 (cash and checks only) and will be held between 7:00-9:45 am. 

When is race packet pick-up?

Race packet pick-up will be on race day, November 4, between 7:00-9:45 am. We encourage you to arrive early.  Your race packet will include your bib with your timing device, an official long-sleeve race t-shirt, and promotional items from our sponsors. We will also have a baggage check available.

Can someone else pick my packet?

Yes. You may have another person pick up your packet on race day.  

Is there a baggage check?

Yes. There will be a baggage check at the race village. Your bib number will be used to identify your baggage, and you must show your bib number to claim your baggage. Race management will not be held responsible for lost or stolen items. All baggage must be claimed following the race and before 11:15 pm.

Is there a time limit for finishing the race?

Please be prepared to complete the 5K within one (1) hour of the starting time.

Will I receive a finisher's medal?

Yes. All participants who finish the race will receive a medal.

Where and when is the post-race festivities?

The post-race festivities area will be held at the lawn at 200-300 Technology Square from 11:15-1:00 pm. Food, beverages, and live music will be provided to race participants and spectators. The award ceremony will be held at 11:00 am. 

Is the race open to everyone?

Yes. The race is open to everyone. 

What is the age limit to enter the 5K4Life Road Race?

You must be at least 15 years or older on race day to participate. Individuals under 18 will need permission from a parent or legal guardian. A parent or legal guardian must also register for the race and accompany the minor on the course. 

Can I run in the race as a team?

Yes. Please include your team name with your online, mail-in or race day registration form.  We encourage you to invite your family and friends to join you at the race. 

Can I walk instead of running in the 5K?

Yes.  Please be prepared to complete the 5K in one (1) hour, and position yourself at the back of the race. 

Can I run or walk with a stroller or baby-jogger?

Yes.  Please position yourself at the back of the race, and run with your stroller on the left-hand side of the pack throughout the race. Take extra care to not bump runners' feet with the stroller wheels, and remember to call out to surrounding runners when you are passing. Following these guidelines will help prevent accidents and avoid harm to your child and other runners.

Is it mandatory to fundraise for the race?

No. We appreciate and encourage fundraising since proceeds from the 3rd annual 5K4Life will benefit Prize4Life and help in the fight against ALS.
